At Julia van den Boorn all pieces are created by hand, to your measurements. The ‘Threaded Liquids’ materials are handcrafted and come in a variety of colours. To view the collection in person or discuss the possibilities of a couture look, please book a private appointment.
The atelier
The Julia van den Boorn atelier is located in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Here, the collections and bespoke designs are brought to life. New fabric innovations are tested, designs are draped and garments tailored to fit perfectly. Everything is done by hand by our expert team.
The couture process
The creation of a bespoke couture dress starts with a creative consultation. This can be in the Amsterdam atelier or online. In this consultation we discuss your wishes and ideas in regards to silhouette, materials and colours. Based on this the designer will illustrate various silhouettes and material swatches for you to choose from. Once you have decided, the atelier will take your measurements and start working on the toiling process. Depending on the complexity and time-line we will do multiple fittings. The next stage will be the creation of your final design in the chosen materials. During a final fitting the last details and finishing touches will be done to your look.
